This truck I am very proud of. So a little of a backstory. This is not my normal wheelhouse of work that I do within my business but to show what I can do. This was originally my Fathers bought in the late 90's. In 2019 I started this as our project and have come a long way with it.
Mobile Services
While we do offer limited mobile services, we would like to take a quick moment to explain our process herein. As some know some areas prohibit working on autos within HOA's, apartments complexes. Likewise some tasks can become complex in nature. And may not have all tools mobily available, thus work would be completed at our structure.
Brakes
In short brakes back in the day were simple and straight forward. Well, they still are for the most part with some exceptions. Some rear calipers must be twisted or turned in, unlike back in the '90's when you treated them the same as the fronts.. Then some manufactures have put electronic motors in connection to the calipers, and most of those must be placed into "service mode" prior to the work being performed. With these advanced settings we have the equipment to address this.
Diagnostics
Diagnostics for automobiles has drastically advanced. There was a time they were a bit simpler to figure what was the issue. In todays cars with all of the computers, sensors and miles or wiring they have become very complex. Lets give a general example, car lacks heat in the passenger area. In simpler times this was typically low coolant or faulty thermostat. In todays cars it could be that or a heater control valve or one of six different actuators within the dash. Another example could be a code pointing to a MAF sensor which meters air flow. If based on the code you replace the sensor only to find a hairline crack within a plastic intake manifold that is allowing unmetered air into the engine, this would still likely send you a MAF code. This is why to some a proper diagnostic has become an art form of sorts.
